From the day the Oilers arrived in Edmonton in 1979, the organization recognized the deep connection the city and the team shared. For over 30 years, our community and our fans have given everything to the Oilers. The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) is a way for the team to return the support. Since our inception in 2001, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation has continued the legacy of giving back, and has gifted over $10 million in financial and in-kind contributions to charitable organizations in Northern Alberta.
Our success is made possible through the generous support from people like you. In fact, our Foundation gifts in excess of $1 million each year to charitable organizations that focus their activities on youth, education, health and wellness. We have directed funds to cancer research, established postsecondary scholarships and provided breakfast to elementary school students, and of course, we are in the midst of our Legacy Project – the redevelopment of Edmonton's Inner City High School.
Inner City High School will support youth in Edmonton's core neighbourhoods on many levels. For students of divergent cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds, this school will provide them with an opportunity to pursue education and a place that will proudly proclaim the power of education in the inner city. It will provide a safe and inspiring place with a strong sense of community, one that goes beyond basic education to address the many complex needs of at-risk youth. This facility has the potential to transform lives – helping youth fulfill their dreams of a better place in our world, and bring the hopes of its students to life.
That is why your support of Winner’s Choice Lottery means so much. Your ticket purchase truly touches lives throughout Northern Alberta. With your continued support, we're building vibrant and caring communities – in hopes of writing a better ending for Northern Alberta charities.
